1847 German Map of North America

105.00

Nord Amerika und West Indien by AH Köhler; Leipzig, 1847.

This beautiful map shows all of North America; from Alaska (labeled Berings Land) down to Panama (not an independent country). It was printed in Leipzig, Germany in 1847. The map is hand colored and has a ton of great historical information to pour over. Texas was the most recent state to be admitted to the union only 2 years early. Mexico still is in possession of the Southwest and California. Central America has only 5 independent countries at this time.

Overall, the map is in good shape for its age. It does have two small tears on either side and a few spots and marks.

Map measures 20" x 16"
