Sale Price:$400.00 Original Price:$450.00

This listing is for a pair of photo albums from a Japanese soldier stationed in China during the Sino-Japanese War. The albums date to circa 1938-39. One album is almost entirely focused on photos of one soldier, while the second album has more photographs of his military unit.

The albums measure 8” x 6” and both are covered in burlap. As you can see in the photos, the spine of one album is busted and has been repaired with duct tape. Both albums have some looseness in the spine. The more personal album features 80 photographs with one missing. Most are single mounted to a page and every page has Japanese text.

The group album contains 93 photos with zero removed. Again, Japanese text is on every page. Ive been told that several of the buildings and statues featured in the albums have since been destroyed. One prominent exception would be the Iron Pagoda in Kaifeng.

A rare opportunity to own this unique glimpse into history!
