For your consideration is a large Bird's Eye Map of New York City that I picked up on my extended buying trip through Europe. These maps are incredible works of art and highly sought after! German artist Hermann Bollmann had made these for a handful of European cities when he was commissioned to produce this map for the World's Fair. He and his staff had to invent new techniques to accurately show the skyscrapers. They took over 67,000 photographs of the city and then drew the map by hand! The resulting map has been called one of the greatest feats in cartography!
Condition is very good for its age. There are a few places along the seams that have worn through, but there are no rips or tears.
Booklet measures 5" x 9" and the map measures 42" x 34"
